š£ļø Quote of the Week:
"The primary cause of unhappiness is never the situation but your thoughts about it." -Eckhart Tolle
Sit with that idea for a moment.
Itās not the situation, itās your thoughts about the situation that causes suffering
In this weekās dose, I share the 3 key things that have turned around their lives (when they fully buy into them).
In the last 14 months, Iāve coached 65+ men in my program.
Guys who are high performers on paper, yet struggle with negative thinking, imposter syndrome, emotional regulation, managing stress, and/or a lack of fulfillment.
These are the guideposts for living a high-performance, fulfilling, & healthy life.
š” The Big Idea
There are three fundamental pillars that these guys subscribe to:
- Total well-being
- Living intentionally & purposefully
- Committing to something bigger
These arenāt just about helping you achieve personal or professional successātheyāre about crafting a life of meaningful impact and sustained peak performance.
š§± Why This Matters
In a country where hustle culture is glorified, the significance of these pillars extends beyond achievement & external success.
We HAVE to recognize that this way of living is a bottomless pit. It only feeds the ego - which is insatiable by design and thus constantly seeks moreā¦
No matter what you feed it and no matter the quantity
External success doesnāt feed the part of you that is the REAL you.
Your soul. The Self. Consciousness.
Iām still about busting your ass to create a great, meaningful life, but this is about a holistic approach that ensures fulfillment in your personal and professional lives - without sacrificing the āsuccessā that many desperately seek.
This matters because it shifts the focus from short-lived wins to building a foundation for lasting peace, fulfillment, & sustained performance.
Itās about understanding that true high performance takes a well-rounded approach fueled by INTENT.
Itās for those who seek not only to excel at their craft but also to lead balanced, meaningful lives.
𤿠Letās Dive In
1. Total Well-being
Think of yourself as a high-performing athlete and nurture every aspect of your beingāmental, emotional, physical, and spiritual.
Itās all interconnected.
They each have a bi-directional impact on one another.
Performing at your highest level requires a holistic approach.
And you have to prepare your vessel.
This ALONE will set you apart from the pack.
2. Live Intentionally & Purposefully
Operate with intention and understand that every action should have a purpose.
Begin to align everything you do with your greater vision.
What is your intent for living?
What do you want from life?
This means being proactive rather than reactive, and stripping away the non-essential.
Architecting a life that matters most to you is a deliberate choice.
Do things with INTENT, for a reason as opposed to on autopilot.
How you do anything is how you do everything.
Example: Keep your external environment tidy to keep your internal environment tidy.
Clean your counters, declutter your desk, clean your car, tidy your bathroom, lay your clothes out the night before, fold the laundry.
3. Commit to Something Bigger
True fulfillment and impact extend beyond personal achievements.
Realizing this is critical.
Most of us can intellectually grasp this, but since weāre still being run by our survival mind, we donāt truly live in accordance to that.
Part of us wants to hang on to the idea that we need to achieve in order to feel like weāve āmade itā.
This is a barrier we need to address.
It helps to start by widening our gaze and seeing a bigger picture.
Whether something bigger means your company, team, family, your dog, community, or a higher power, be IN IT for something greater than yourself.
When you lean into this, your potential naturally starts to expand in ways you were never aware of. (This is the secret sauce.)
This will connect every one of your actions with deeper significance, thus reinforcing your intention & purpose.
Which then reinforces your holistic approach to treating yourself like a high-level athlete.
TL;DR
Prepare your vessel.
Start living ON purpose.
Do it for something bigger than you.
šāāļø Take Action
- Your Well-being: Take inventory of your current state in all four areas: mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual. Rate them 1-10. Where are you slacking? Be brutally honest with yourself.
- Your Intentions: Where are you being reactive instead of proactive? Are you doing what you do for a reason? What is your intent behind the action you take? If left on auto-pilot, the mind will choose what IT wants, not what you want.
- Your "Something Bigger": What drives you beyond personal success? It you get to where you want, what will that unlock for you? Who will it impact? If money wasnāt an issue, who would you want to help every day?
Helpful? Let me know.
Iād love to hear how it goes.
